Operation Market Harborough Website Design and Maintenance
From January 2023 to September 2025, I was responsible for designing and maintaining the website for Operation Market Harborough — a large-scale military living history event. The aim was to create an immersive and authentic online presence that reflected the spirit of the show while keeping navigation simple for visitors wanting to find information, book tickets, or view event highlights.
Each page featured a video header, using footage taken directly from the show itself. To enhance the period feel, I applied a translucent sepia overlay across the videos, creating a warm, aged tone that complemented the 1940s theme. The effect gave the website a cinematic quality while retaining modern design standards and responsiveness across all devices.
This project was undertaken as part of a contra-deal, where I agreed to provide my design and maintenance services at a reduced rate, with the promise of full payment once the event became established. Over the following years, I managed updates, improvements, and hosting, often going above the original brief to maintain quality and reliability, thus keeping up my end of the agreement.
Unfortunately as the show grew, the organisers decided not to keep their end of the deal by bringing the partnership to a close mid-contract after nearly three years of productive collaboration, without due notice, with payments outstanding – hence why the domain now points to this page.
None-the-less we wish OMH Events continued success.
