Modernising the DI5CO Entertainment and Event Hire Website

The DI5CO Entertainment and Event Hire website was a fascinating modernisation project. The original design first went live around 15 years ago — a real testament to how well the front-end visuals had stood the test of time. Despite the site’s appearance still looking relatively current, the underlying codebase told a different story. The old HTML, PHP, jQuery, JavaScript, and CSS had become dated, difficult to maintain, and incompatible with modern web standards.

My task was to bring the site up to date while preserving the look and feel that visitors had come to recognise. Using the existing content as a foundation, I rebuilt the entire website within WordPress, providing a flexible, future-proof structure without losing its familiar visual identity.

The transition involved carefully reworking each element to retain the brand’s established aesthetic while introducing clean, optimised code and responsive functionality. The new WordPress version offers the same visual experience but performs significantly better — faster load times, improved security, and full compatibility with current browsers and devices.

A key part of the process was ensuring the migration was seamless, with no disruption to existing SEO value or user experience. The updated platform also allows easier content management, giving DI5CO greater control over ongoing updates and media integration.

This project demonstrates that even a well-aged design can thrive again when rebuilt with modern tools and best practices. The result is a refreshed version of a long-standing brand that’s now technically robust, mobile-friendly, and ready for another decade online.
